Fondant Birthday Cakes

You can make cakes that don't look like cakes at all (a bath tub, and a teapot are a few we've seen recently), you can sculpt figures to decorate your cake with, and cover your cake in any kind of pattern you can think of (argyle, polka dots, stripes, paisley).
What's really cool about fondant, though, is that it makes it possible for ordinary mortals like us to produce cakes that look professionally made! Once you get the hang of working with fondant you'll be amazed at the smooth and shiny pastry-chef-worthy creations you'll make. Fondant cake decorating is certainly an art form, but with a little practice you'll be able to create a work of art of your own.
